A demanding studying schedule, anxieties about grades, money worries and complexities in relationships can have effects on your mental health.

Problems can affect anyone regardless of background or status. It is estimated that nearly one person out of four will be affected by a mental health problem during their lifetime. There is no single reason to explain why some individuals are more likely to be affected than others.

Some issues in mental health are of special concern to women. For example, the majority of those suffering from depression are women and conditions such as post natal depression (a condition which afflicts some women following childbirth) are unique to women.

Mental health problems can vary in cause, manifestation and duration.

Seeking and obtaining help is common and not a sign of weakness or cause for shame. If you or those close to you have difficulties, early intervention can be vital.
